Dauin backs PNRC program

Dauin Mayor Rodrigo Alanano said Friday that he will support the Philippine National Red Cross-Negros Oriental chapter, by giving  seed money for its blood data bank program

The initial contribution of P50,000 will start the project, he said, adding that he envisions that allbarangaysofhis municipality willhavealist of potential blood donors.

Alanano admitted, though, that the blood program is not included in the priority list programs of his administration but he is willing to support the PNRC.

 Meanwhile, the Philippine National Oil Company-Energy Development Corp.,  in cooperation with thelocal governmentunitofDauin, andthe PNRC provincial chapter collected 22 bagsofbloodduringtheblooddonation activity Thursday, at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall of Dauin.

Project manager Vicente Omandam, Jr. of Dauin Geothermal Exploration Project, said the program is part of the corporate socialresponsibility of their company.

Hesaid that inallprojectsitestheydevelopthehealth, education, livelihoodand environment or the HELE Program is intendedfortheresidents of their areas of coverage.

Althoughtheproject isstillontheexplorationstage,  they are developingtheroadnetwork intheprojectarea, Omandam said. Theyarehopingto startthedrillingbyNovemberor December,providedtheweatheris fine, he added.*MA
