IBP-NegOr lauds
lifting of EO 464

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Negros Oriental chapter is supporting all measures to seek the truth in the ongoing Senate probe, on the cancelled National Broadband Network deal between the  Philippine government  and  ZTE of China.

President Samsodin Tahir of the IBP Negros Oriental chapter said their group will rally behind efforts for the truth to come out in the anomalous transaction, and punish the guilty ones, no matter what.

The group lauded President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for lifting  Executive Order 464 so that Cabinet officials will not be prevented from exposing the truth, before the Senate inquiry, it said.

ZTE principal witness Noel Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada had tagged President Arroyo, her husband Mike, and resigned Commission on Elections Chairman Benjamin Abalos Jr. for the scandal-ridden transaction, involving alleged kickbacks.

Lozada have since been speaking at various schools around the country about his quest for the truth.

Tahir said the IBP in Negros Oriental  came up with its stand on the issue when members from 10 chapters of the IBP from at least three regions converged in Dumaguete City, recently, for an annual meeting.*JG
