H&S in Class B finals
BY CEDELF TUPAS

Head and Shoulders grabbed the second finals slot in the Class B division of the 8th Tan Kek Pin Cup Memorial Basketball Tournament with an easy 87-70 victory over Baciwa Wednesday night at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

With the win, Head and Shoulders moved into the finals against KJ Fairmart-City Savings Bank at 6:30 tonight.

World of Fun and Probac collide for the Class A crown in the second game. The awarding ceremonies for the Immuvit Most Valuable Player and mythical teams will also be held tonight.

The odds are stacked against Head and Shoulders as KJ already owns two masterful wins against them in the eliminations and the semifinals.

KJ, buoyed by a sweep of the semifinal round, has the twice-to-beat edge, making matters more complicated for Head and Shoulders. A Head and Shoulders win, though, could pave the way for a winner-take-all match on Sunday.

Joenel Pabiana, Vanzant Brizuela and William Olbido took turns in puncturing Baciwa’s defense in the first three quarters as Head and Shoulders pulled away early on.

Romeo Rojo and Raffy Torrico preserved the win in the fourth quarter to cap a balanced attack by Head and Shoulders, which drew at least seven points from seven different players.

The loss relegated Baciwa to third place, followed by Davies Paint. *CPT
