Apparently fed up by the maltreatment of her mother, a 15-year-old took justice into her hands by stabbing to death her father in Brgy. Culipapa, Hinobaan, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, police said.

Police investigations show the victim identified as Victorino Quilinsing, 38, was stabbed with scissors by his own daughter, whose identity is being withheld by the DAILY STAR.

Inspector Mateo Maguate, Hinobaan police chief, in his report to Senior Supt. Rosendo Franco, provincial police director, said the victim was reportedly drunk when he allegedly maltreated his wife during a fight at their residence on March 12.

Thinking that her mother who was sprawled on the floor of their house was dead, the suspect got scissors and stabbed her father in the chest, which led to his death, Maguate said.

The suspect, accompanied by her mother and Culipapa barangay officials, immediately surrendered to the Hinobaan Police Station.

Police investigation showed that the victim may have been traumatized by witnessing the battering of her mother by his father, when he gets drunk.

Meanwhile, a 10-year-old child died, after she was ran over by a cargo truck in Murcia, Negros Occidental, also on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Anna Matigayon, a 10-year-old pupil of Murcia Elementary School.

Adonis Santiago, 24, driver of the Isuzo cargo truck, is now locked up in jail after gave himself up to the Murcia Police Station.*GPB
