Ten gold medals are at stake as action in the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet goes full blast today at the Binirayan Sports Complex in San Jose, Antique.
Negrense athletes plunge into action in elementary and secondary high jump and shotput as well as the 3000m and 5000m runs.
Palarong Pambansa veteran Bon Daryl Lagunday of Bago City will spearhead the bunch of athletes competing today.
| McDonald’s Soccer Young football enthusiasts get the chance to experience the thrill and fun of playing the world’s most popular sport inside a mall for free with the staging of the McDonald’s Soccer Mania at the event center of the SM City Bacolod starting today. The three-day activity, which will feature ball juggling competitions, kick-for-a-prize, beat the goalie and a football clinic to be conducted by Union FC players, starts from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., event manager Japette Pison said. Similar activities have also been held in Baguio City, Cebu, Pampanga and Cagayan de Oro, she said. |
| WOF, Probac World of Fun and Probac begin their virtual best-of-three series for the Class A title in the 8th Tan Kek Pin Cup Memorial Basketball Tournament at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School tonight. Both teams reached the finals after winning their first two games in the single-round semifinals. WOF clinched a finals seat by nipping Province of Negros Occidental, 99-97, while Probac came-from-behind to repulse Talisay, 91-78. Tonight’s game is actually just the conclusion of the semifinals but the winner will gain the twice-to-beat advantage in the championship on Saturday since the tournament format awards the incentive for the team that sweeps in the semis. |
