‘Settle land taxes early
to avail 20% discount’

Real property owners in Bacolod City are encouraged to settle their tax dues at the Land Tax Division before the year ends to avail the 20 percent discount offered by the city government.

Arlene Memoria, head of the Land Tax office, said the discount is granted to the taxpayers year round and they do not have to wait until December to avail it.

She said the influx of taxpayers at their office in December showed that most think the discount only applies at year-end.

NN unveils refurbished
‘St. Joseph the Worker’

Negros Navigation introduced yesterday to the public the newly-refurbished St. Joseph the Worker vessel, equipped with more venues for onboard conferences.

Renovated to suit the preference of sea travelers from Negros Occidental and other points of destination in the country, Jose Manuel Mapa, NN’s executive vice president-Passage Business Division, said the company has invested millions in the renovation of the vessel.

The conference rooms he said can be use for seminars, workshops, meetings and planning, ideal for those who travel as a group such as those from the local government units.
