IN DEADLY MISHAP
Seaman set to file
raps vs. driver

BY NIDA BUENAFE

Erjo Junatas is determined to file criminal charges against the driver of the Isuzu six-wheeler truck that hit his family’s car resulting in the death of his wife, Minni Magdalene, their children Gene Noel and Ann Margarette, and driver Allan Carmona.

Erjo will see his lawyer today to finalize the complaint against the driver Roland Pasigado, his friend Bambi Yngson said yesterday.

The suspect remains detained at the EB Magalona jail and Erjo will file the charges before the reglamentary period for detention expires tomorrow, Yngson said.

EB Magalona police chief Senior Insp. Samuel Mina said the Junatas’ lawyer has already visited his office and requested him to prepare the complaint sheet, blotter, sketch, and traffic investigation report in preparation for the filing of the charges.

Pasigado can face charges for reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide, Mina said.

All items that belong to the victims had been turned over to the representatives of the Junatas family who claimed them from the PNP station, Mina added.

The remains of the three members of the Junatas’ family and that of Carmona were brought to Sagay City yesterday.

As Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president of Sagay, the City Council earlier proposed that Gene Noel’s remains be brought to the City Hall.

However, the plan did not push through as it will be difficult for Erjo and the rest of the family to keep vigil at the City Hall and at the same time, at the Junatas’ home.

The date of interment has not been decided yet.*NAB
