BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

A few hours after his installation as new Dumaguete City police chief Tuesday, Supt. Leopoldo Cabanag was greeted by a hold-up incident at Sta. Catalina corner Pinili streets.

Unidentified suspects held up the branch head of RCPI Western Union, and they fled with P300,000 in cash just withdrawn from Equitable PCI bank located at Colon Street, police investigation showed.

The victim, Henedina Nocete, 39, married told the police she thought nobody would know she was bringing a large sum of money as she kept it under her armpit, and she had an overcoat.

Nocete said the motorcab she was riding was blocked by three motorcycle-riding suspects who, at gunpoint, took the money and fled towards the Rizal boulevard on board a black Honda motorcycle.*JG
