| Pilgrimage for St. Therese
Bacolod City and Negros Occidental were “blessed” by the recent visit of the pilgrim relics of St. Therese of Liseux, one of the most beloved saints of the millennium.
For three days, devotees and lovers of St. Therese of the Child Jesus trooped to Carmelite monastery in Bacolod for veneration and Masses.
The entourage that came with St. Therese was so impressed with the reception of the relics. After a tour for almost two months in the different parts of the country, they considered Mt. Carmel-Bacolod as the “most pilgrim-friendly” venue.
Thanks to Millie K., Tima L., and Ely T., our media group was able to welcome the relics. The bad weather did not deter volunteers from welcoming the relics. From the Bredco port, we proceeded to San Sebastian Cathedral for the welcome rites and Mass, then to Camerole for a whistle stop visit, where thousands of devotees welcomed the relics with flags and matching T-shirts.
Hundreds of sandwiches and bottled water were given to volunteers. At the city jail, many were touched to hear and listen to the song for St. Therese. Fr. Bernard Veneracion was one of those who offered a welcome mass.
Special arroz caldo was prepared by volunteers of “Yahong ni Therese,” which impressed Esther Seguerra from Malacañang.
Kudos to the volunteers of Brotherhood of Christian Businessman and Professional, Bukas Loob sa Dios, Days with the Lord, Prison Ministry, OCDS, Casa Maria Group Legion of Mary, Mother Butler and Damas to mention a few.
Special thanks to Susie Madrigal Ortigas for sponsoring a dinner for all Carmel delegates all over the Philippines. To God be the glory!
Remember: Try to reflect God’s magnificence and brilliance into someone else’s life.*
