SR bowlers reign
 

SR Bowlers – Bacolod reigned supreme in the two-day 1st Victorias City Charter Day Open Invitational Trio Bowling Championship dubbed “Mayor Severo Palanca Cup” hosted by the Negros Professional Bowlers Club at the Victorias Coliseum Super Bowling Alley in Negros Occidental.

Steven Be’s pintopplers crushed NPBC LJP Trading MJS of Gil Villagante in the final showdown.

SR prevailed in the fierce battle with a 398-375 victory for the title.

Ricky Ondovilla took matters into his hands with 164 pinfalls, while Ben Pison and Ricky Zamora contributed 119 and 115, respectively.

Hernand Garciniego topscored for the losing cause of NPBC with 126 balls, as Carlo Boyero and Mat Gaudite poured in 124 and 119, respectively.

The other members of the teams were Thad Arrey and Unyot Gane for SR, and Rey Gargar for LJP.      

The NPBC pinshooters earned the last final slot in the up-the-ladder championship, after booting out two Iloilo squads from the race in the last game of the elimination phase.

In their quest for the title, NPBC squad beat No. 3 Barangay I/ASSFBI of Capt. Sammy Gaitan in the quaterfinals, 368-355, and followed it up with a victory over Romulo Ramos’ Mulo Aircon Services in the semifinal, 353-351.

The tournament was held in cooperation with Mayor Palanca and   the city’s Sangguniang Panlungsod, as part of Victorias City Charter Day celebration.

It was participated in by 16 bowling teams from Iloilo City, Bago City, Cadiz City, Victorias City and Bacolod City.*
