La Salle spikers hike record;
Silay, QPS triumph

University of St. La Salle’s 14-under girls volleyball team scored three wins over the weekend to improve their record in the ongoing 18th NOVA-NOCSF Age-Group Volleyball Championship.

The USLS girls beat Bacolod City National High School (25-22, 25-18) in their first game Saturday then demolished sister school St. Joseph School-La Salle (11-25, 18-25) and La Consolacion College in three sets (25-23, 14-25, 25-16).

The La Salle spikers also registered a victory in girls’ 12-under against La Carlota (25-19, 25-14) but suffered crushing defeats in girls’ 10-under against St. John’s Institute, St. Benilde School and Mansilingan Christian Academy.

The USLS’ boys 10-under also suffered setbacks in the hands of MCA (25-8, 25-22), La Consolacion Academy-Murcia (25-12, 25-20), and Queen of Peace School (25-20, 25-10).

Also coming out strong in the girls’ department during the weekend’s age-group volleyball contest was Silay which turned back SJI and Trinity Christian School in 12-under (25-19, 25-18), (25-10, 25-11), SJS-LS in 14-under (25-13, 25-5), and Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod in 16-under (25-21, 25-18).

Meanwhile, after conquering USLS in the boys’ 10-under, QPS continued to improve its record in the tournament with wins against SJI and SBS while the girls’ team duplicated the feat, also against SJI.

Other winners in the girls’ department during the weekend were NOHS against SJI and La Carlota against CSA-B (16-under), SBS against TCS (12-under), BNHS against LCC (14-under).*NAB
