PAMB to collect users’ fee
at Tañon Strait seascape

The  Protected  Area  Management Board will  be collecting  users  fees from public  conveyances, infrastructure  and  development facilities, tourism, leisure  and  recreation activities for  the Tañon Strait Protected  Seascape  and  Landscape  in Negros  Oriental.

This was disclosed yesterday by Protected Area Superintendent Chamberlain Babiera of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-7.

Babiera said he recently met with the mayors whose local governments from Sibulan to Vallehermoso are covered by the protected seascape of Tañon Strait, and in the presence of Gov. Emilio Macias II.

Rape-slay charges filed
versus German national
IN BORACAY

ILOILO CITY – The police yesterday filed a criminal complaint against a German tourist for the rape and killing of an entertainer on Boracay Island.

The Boracay Special Tourist Protection Office filed a rape with homicide charge before the Aklan Provincial Prosecutors Office against Adolf Christian Winterer, 43, for the killing of Mylene de la Rosa.

BSTPO chief Senior Insp. Auxilio Dador said they have enough evidence to charge Winterer, a resident of Munich in Germany, who has been staying on the island for around a year.

DAR to implement
18 road projects this year

The Department of Agrarian Reform will implement 18 farm-to-market road projects this year in the three districts of Negros Oriental, provincial agrarian reform officer Grace Fua said yesterday.

Six projects will be for barangays Lomogong, Bagtic-Sitio Lucay, Salvacion, Bantolinao-Candabong, Matobato, and Tinaogan in the first district; barangays Manincao, Tubigon, and Samac-Sitio Namonbon-Abis in the second district; and roads in barangays Lipayo-Tugawe, Malungcay Dako-Sitio Nagpanto, Calango, Mayabon-Najandig, Albiga-Bonbonon, Bonbonon-Siit, Benonsuran-Kuyagaw, and Manalongon-Milagrosa, in the third district, will be improved and rehabilitated, Fua revealed.
