BIR 12 to launch
tax drive tomorrow
 

The Bureau of Internal Revenue Region No. 12 in Bacolod City will launch its 2008 Tax Campaign tomorrow through various activities aimed to create awareness on the payment of taxes, a press release from the agency said.

The campaign, themed “Itaguyod and Bayan, Tamang Buwis ay Bayaran,” will begin with a motorcade around Bacolod City at 1 p.m., starting at the PNB grounds in Lacson St., Bacolod City and ending at Robinsons Place where a program will be held at the Fountain Area at 3 p.m.

The motorcade will be participated by national government agencies, civic and professional organizations, sectoral groups, and BIR personnel from the regional office and revenue district offices in Victorias, Bacolod, Binalbagan and Dumaguete City, the press release said.

Top BIR Supporters’ Awards will be given to individuals, public officials, corporations, government entities, civic organizations, business and professional sectoral groups who have actively supported the BIR Region 12 Tax Campaign programs and activities in 2007. 

BIR Region 12, headed by Regional Director Rodita Galanto,  is  now ready to accept filing of 2007 Income Tax Returns. Deadline is on April 15, the press release said.
