The Negros Occidental secondary boys’ football squad is bent on ending the Iloilo reign in the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association meet, which kicks off March 13 in San Jose, Antique.

The team, mentored by Tata Parel and George Jaranilla, is undergoing intensive training at the Negros Occidental Football Association Regional Football Training Center in Bago City, a press release from the NOFA said.

NOFA consultant Maor Rozen Feldman, who flew in from Spain to conduct trainings in the province, is also helping out the team along with goalkeeping coach Remando Baldava Jr. and John Robert Mendoza.

Skippered by Ralph Christian Layumas, the team is composed of Bago, Pontevedra, Victorias and San Carlos players.

Among the players to watch are strikers Bon Jovi Amanquiton, Jimuyel Arriola, J Baguiro, Russel Layumas, Jimmy Malalo-an Jr., Florence Ian Agraviador, Mauricio Manuel Pamilar, Aldrin Dolino, Ramonino Aledro and Michael Marcellana.

Negros lost in the finals to Iloilo last year at the Paglaum Sports Complex.*CPT
