OWIF donates 7 wheelchairs

The One World Institute Foundation donated Thursday seven new wheelchairs to  Barangay  Buñao, Dumaguete  City, Barangay Captain  Lionel Banogon yesterday said.

Six senior citizens will avail of the donation, and the other one will be used by patients at the Barangay Health Center. The donation was facilitated by Coast Guard Commander Roberto Patrimonio. 

Aside from wheelchairs, the barangay will also receive medicines for residents, including vitamins for infants and kids, Banogon said. 

The donor is a foundation based in the United States, and is giving grants through education and health services.

The OWIF is encouraging local government units to avail of their assistance, by passing a  resolution  reiterating  their   need  for   health  or  education, Banogon said.*MA
