University of St. La Salle walloped University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in the men and women's division and completed a sweep of the collegiate beach volleyball tournament of the 2007-2008 NOPSSCEA Season at the USLS Sand Courts in Bacolod City.

La Salle duo Marlon Luces and Jun Cabahug stole the thunder from John Paul Geolegue and Jhonson Magalasin of UNO-R, 21-16, 21-17, in the men's finals.

The Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod tandem of Armando Diwatin and Jeffrey Getida settled for third in the March 1-2 tournament.

KJ-CSB, Baciwa cagers
clinch last semis berths

KJ-Fairmart City Savings Bank and Baciwa took contrasting routes to the class B semifinals of the 8th Tan Kek Pin Cup Memorial Basketball Tournament Thursday night at the Po Hang Gym.

Baciwa bundled out Gentech Atlantic, 93-88, while KJ cruised past Foodman, 113-79, to join Head and Shoulders and Davies Luis Paint in the last four.

KJ and Baciwa meet today at the beginning of the single-round semis. Head and Shoulders clashes with Davies prior to the KJ-Baciwa match.

Golf-for-a-cause
tees off March 15

Golfers from Manila and Iloilo get to pit their skills with Bacolod’s finest in the 15th annual Rotary 'Golf-for-a-Cause' tournament set March 15 to 16 at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

The tournament is organized by the Rotary Club of Bacolod Marapara, headed by former amateur golf star Eduardo Coscolluela, who said that proceeds of the tournament will be used for the club’s medical missions.

A press release from the club said players can sign up on the first day of the event at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club. Registration is pegged at P1,000 which includes the awards dinner and two mulligans.
