NegOr lands sought
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Farmers organizations in Negros Oriental are in favor of extending the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program although they said the landholdings should be distributed equitably.

The farmers were among the more than 3,000 people who attended the public hearing, conducted by Representatives Pablo Garcia and Crispin Beltran, on the CARP extension consultation, yesterday at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex, Capitol Area, Dumaguete City.

Participants were from the Department of Agrarian Reform regional offices, various non-government organizations, landowners, people’s organizations and other stakeholders.

In spite of this, Marigza said they are continuing with their campaign for Sangguniang Bayan resolutions to oppose the project.
