| The “truth caravan” on the alleged graft-ridden national broadband network deal will go on in Negros Occidental schools despite warnings from Malacañang, Fr. Anecito Buenafe said yesterday.
"We need to caution our people, especially the parents. We know the youth is passionate and very aggressive. They should carefully study the things that are said and heard," said deputy presidential spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo, referring to speeches of Senate witness Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr. at universities in Manila.
“The youth can be very emotional about this, and the danger is, when we become emotional, we lose objectivity,” Fajardo told reporters in Manila, adding that Lozada has not presented concrete evidence to back his claims.
A huge gathering is set in Bacolod on March 14 with Lozada as speaker, organizers of the affair said.
However, details of the affair are being withheld for security reasons, they said.
Buenafe said the warning of Malacañang appears to have been made to try to prevent the truth from being told but it will not stop such efforts in Negros.
The youth have been at the forefront of the fight against corruption in Negros and their ability to discern the truth should not be underestimated, he said.*CPG
