| The 1st Victorias City Charter Day Duckpin Open Trio Bowling Tournament dubbed the “Mayor Severo Palanca Cup” rolls off Saturday at the Victorias Coliseum Super Bowling Alley in Negros Occidental.
Hosted by the Negros Professional Bowlers Club headed by Gil Villagante, the tournament is a six-game series event where the top three squads will vie for the top prize in the two-day activity.
Mayor Palanca will be the guest of honor and speaker at the curtain raiser, while NPBC vice president Steve Po will deliver the opening remarks.
Eighteen bowling squads from Iloilo, Bacolod City, Bago City, Victorias City, Talisay City, Silay City, Escalante, Manapla, Cadiz City and San Carlos City are expected to see action at the inaugural games of the city’s bowling lanes.
Hostilities will start at 2 p.m.
Registration is pegged at P2,500, including alley fees.
Prizes at stake are P15,000 for the champion; P10,000 and P5,000 for the first and second runners-up, plus a trophy each, tournament committee chair Zards Odango said.
Bowling teams can use their personal balls.*HLG
