Cops file raps vs.
2 for sex gadgets sale

BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

The police yesterday filed charges against the owner and “caretaker” of the sex gadget shop they raided in Bacolod City Monday.

Police Station 2 commander, Senior Inspector Luisito Acebuche, said they lodged the cases against owner Diosa Achenova and Luigi Tan for violation of Republic Act 3815 in relation to the provisions of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code.

Section 3 of Article 201 of R.A. 3815 states that those who sell, give away or exhibit films, prints, engravings, sculpture or literature which are offensive to morals could be meted with a jail term of six years minimum or pay a P6,000 to P12,000, or both.

Tan was arrested during the raid but was eventually released after a few hours when he told the police he was just the “caretaker” of 577 China Commercial, which displayed vibrators,  giant dolls, and other sex paraphernalia at the 888 Chinatown Square at Gatuslao Street, Bacolod.

They included Tan in the charges because they’ve found out in their “deeper investigation” that he may be a business partner of Achenova and not just a caretaker, Acebuche said.

He had earlier said they released Tan because he was just the outfit’s caretaker and that the owner was the one responsible for the sale of the sex gadgets.

Carlson Ty, 888 Chinatown Square executive vice president, said Tan, who also uses the surname Chan, is Achenova’s husband.*PP
