Talisay ARBs
receive fertilizers

Twenty-six agrarian reform beneficiaries cooperatives and organizations in Talisay City recently received 1,300 bags of organic fertilizers from Rep. Jose Carlos Lacson (3rd District, Neg.Occ.), a press release from the Negros Occidental Provincial Agrarian Reform Office said.

The fertilizers were distributed as part of the congressman’s support services packages in the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program in his district.

Lacson has also provided pre- and post-harvest facilities and livelihood assistance to ARBs, the Negros Occidental PARO said.

Teresita Mabunay, newly-installed municipal agrarian reform officer of Talisay, also thanked Lacson for his continued support for the extension of CARP beyond 2008 and informed him on the CARP coverages in Talisay.

Department of Agriculture representative Roy Tiu said their agency implements all the agricultural projects of Lacson aimed to help the ARBs in crop production and access to market.

There is also a proposal for the establishment of a  bagsakan center for their agricultural products, Tiu said, adding that  DAR and DAR are partners in the implementation of CARP especially in the delivery of support services, the press release added.*
