Pilgrimage, birthday

A mass will be officiated by Bishop Vicente Navarra today to welcome the relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, which will arrive at the BREDCO via the ro-ro, at 1 p.m., and will be brought to the San Sebastian Cathedral.

The relics will then be brought to Bacolod City Jail in Magsaysay Avenue for a visit, and off to Carmelite Monastery in Mandalagan.

On Thursday, the relics will be brought to Kabankalan City, after the 6:30 a.m. Mass. It will return to Carmel after a sendoff Mass in the afternoon, then off to Manila on March 7 to be accompanied by Ester Ceguera of Malacañang.

Birthday celebrator Sylvia de la Paz had a grand time. She celebrated her birthday with an early Mass and sumptuous breakfast at L’Fisher.

Out of the blue,. Sylvia’s hubby, John de la Paz, texted Cora Coscolluela to inform the Berks that there would also be dinner at Sugarland Hotel. Thanks to the very effective walking hands of the group -- everybody was present. Those who were abroad or in Manila, greeted the celebrator by long distance calls.

The fun lasted until almost midnight. To Sylvia many more years of celebrating. A happy, happy birthday.

Remember: Welcome someone new into your circle of friends. Let God’s light shine through You.*
