Cabug cagers reach semis

Barangay Cabug caught the last bus in the 12-Under division of the Mayor Bing Small Basketeers League with a 62-54 trouncing of MG Medalla Sunday at the Negros Occidental Multi Purpose Activity Center in Bacolod City.

The win gave Cabug the No. 4 slot in the semis, where it faces the unenviable task of battling top-ranked University of St. La Salle.

Also advancing to the last four was St. John’s Institute-A, which hammered SJI-B, 116-45. Dennis Coo scored 20 points for SJI-A, which earned the right to meet Davies in the semis.

In the 14-under division, St. Benilde School and La Consolacion College-Main drubbed Stallions and Bacolod Christian College of Negros, respectively to clinch semis berths.

Lou Golez topscored with 20 points as St. Benilde downed Stallions, 73-42, for the No. 3 spot. SBS will clash with Davies Paint for a place in the finals.

LCC overcame BCC, 65-59, in overtime to book a showdown with USLS-A in the semis. *CPT
