| IWRMC conducts workshop on hygiene and sanitation
The Integrated Water Resources Management Council conducted a Creative Workshop on Information, Education, Campaign Materials for Hygiene and Sanitation, at Bethel Guesthouse, Dumaguete City, Friday.
It was participated in by different artists in the performing and visual arts, representatives from schools and universities, and the private sector.
Judith Alpuerto of the Provincial Planning and Development Office said, the training formed a core group who will do the education module for elementary and secondary levels.
The artists created comic strips for the module and a musical campaign on hygiene and sanitation, she added.
Organizers envision that that children and students will become aware of the importance of water preservation and sanitation. The education module may be included in the school curriculum when classes open in June.
The IWRM Council is a project assisted by the German Technical Cooperation for the Integrated Water Resources Program, in Negros Oriental, Alpuerto said.
The GTZ assistance on wastewater and sustainable sanitation in the Philippines will end in 2009, she added.*MA
