Noreco 1 airs concerns
BY RENE GENOVE

The Negros Oriental 1 Electric Cooperative based in Bindoy town, Negros Oriental,  yesterday appealed to its consumers, especially those living in far-flung barangays, to immediately report power interruptions to their office.

Jose Jaculbe Jr. of NORECO 1, at a forum held recently by the Philippine Information Agency in Guihulngan, said their maintenance crew have to spend almost a day just to get to far areas.

He said it’s difficult to make necessary repairs during nighttime. Meanwhile, Jaculbe said power interruptions often happen due to

clearing activities or caused by fallen trees, and he urged consumers to also report this to NORECO.

The electric firm recently announced that all the 285 barangays in its coverage areas from Mabinay to Canlaon City have been energized as of Dec. 31, 2007.*RG
