Bacolod’s newest

LA VIDA NEGRENSE

The newest budget-friendly mall in Bacolod City opened yesterday.  Up to 300 stores can be accommodated at a one-stop mall patterned after Manila’s famous 168 in Divisoria. Entrepreneurs Joseph Uy and Ryan Dominic Sy were among the early birds at yesterday’s opening of Bacolod’s Divisoria.

It was a double celebration recently at a newly-opened restaurant, for the birthday bash of Jean Valderrama and the blessing of a resto-grill owned by her daughter Thea Valderama, who is married to Louie Kilayko.

Family and friends came in full force to support the couple’s venture. The restaurant was named after their youngest son, Job. The putting up of the resto came to mind at an anniversary celebration of the Couples for Christ.

It was a night of good music, great food and good company as Bacolod welcomed its newest addition to the night scene: a bar owned by Michelle Gasataya-Pervis.

Guests felt they were in an offshore oil rig in the North Sea where Jake Pervis works as a subsea ROV pilot. Proprietors wanted to start the first British-inspired bar in the City of Smiles.

The bar was jampacked during the opening of the nautical-themed ambiance courtesy of Negrense interior designer Raymond Fuentes, who  placed several photos of marine vessels in a gallery type set-up at the mezzanine.*
