PD leads wreath laying of fallen comrades in Sta. Catalina detachment

The Philippine National Police remembered Thursday the 20th anniversary of four policemen who died during the Feb. 28, 1988 attack of the PNP Detachment in Nagbagang, Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental.

Police provincial director, Senior Supt. Melvin Buenafe, led the wreath-laying and blessing of the shrine in honor of the heroism of the police officers in defending their detachment.

Buenafe said the shrine is a humble offering for the heroism of their comrades, hoping that this will inspire other policemen to be honest and loyal to their sworn duty.

He also conducted surprise visits to some police stations in the southern part of the province, to monitor their readiness and to know their needs.

There are civic clubs, organizations and private individuals who promised to give support to the projects of  the PNP, Buenafe said.*MA
