Guv releases P1.3M PAO project budget

Negros Oriental Gov. Emilio  Macias II  has  approved  the  release  of  P1.3  million  for  various  development  projects  of  the Provincial  Agriculture  Office.

The fund  will be used  for  crops  and  research,  soils laboratory, fisheries,  and purchase of  high-valued crops,  including  rice  and corn, PAO officer  Oliver  Lemence   said. 

The  Barangay  Agricultural Development Center in  Kalumboyan, Bayawan City  will  receive  16   cattle worth  P300,000  under  the  BADC organic  support   program.

The dung of the cow is one of the components in making organic   fertilizer.   

The  Danggula  Demo  Farm  in Siaton will  also  be  allocated  some  amount  for  additional improvement  of  its tilapia  demo farm, one of the innovation  projects of  Macias,  under  the  Government  Agricultural Development Center.

An estimated  50,000 to 100,000  fingerlings are being  produced  every month  at the demo farm, Lemence said.*MA
