BODY FOUND IN CEMETERY
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The police are investigating the cause of death of a minor whose body was found yesterday at the old Bogo Cemetery in Dumaguete City.

Probers identified the body as that of Reydon Piñero, 16, of Barangay Batinguel, Dumaguete.

Two young boys named Junfer and John Ceasar, found the body hanging on top of a tomb, while they were collecting used candles inside the cemetery, at about 6 a.m. yesterday, the police said.

Relatives of the victim told the police they want to know what caused the death of Reydon, who investigators had initially theorized, committed suicide.

Investigation showed that also found beside the body were two t-shirts formed into a circle, and attached to a steel pipe used as roofing of a tomb.

The victim’s arms were straight downwards, his hands were closed  and so with his mouth, investigation added.

Personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operation are looking into possible foul play.

They said the physical appearance would show the victim could have died elsewhere, then was brought to the cemetery to make it appear that he hanged himself. His feet were barely 6 to 10 inches above the ground, the SOCO added.*JG
