Millgate prices of “B” or domestic sugar in Negros and Panay continue to rally for the fourth week, reaching as high as P1,105.01 per 50-kilo Lkg at the Feb. 28 bidding, the price monitor of the Sugar Master Plan Foundation shows.
Prices range between P1,070 and P1,105.01 this week from the past week’s (Feb. 21) P1,055 to P1,100.48 range.
It was only on the first week of February when prices of ‘B’ sugar bounced back after a decline in January. On Jan. 31 prices ranged from P1,008 to P1,045.55 while on Jan. 24, between P1,013 and P1,048.29.

Recycling market
at SM Bacolod today
SM City Bacolod holds its Recycling Market Day at the North Transport Terminal, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
The recycling market, held every first Saturday of the month, provides drop-off areas and buying stations for recyclables and non-traditional waste for the Bacoleños. Called the R-Day, it is a collecting and buying event for recyclable materials that can be redeemed for cash on-the-spot by the recyclers.
Shoppers can trade for cash traditional and non-traditional waste items such as used papers and cartons, old electronics/ electrical equipment, used lead acid batteries, used PET bottles and other plastics, aluminum cans, scrap glass, used printer inks and toners, used ink/ toner catridges, and used tires, used oil.
