Lawyer to referee
Pacquiao-Diaz fight

BY NIDA BUENAFE

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has named semi-retired lawyer Vic Drakulich as the referee in the World Boxing Council lightweight fight between Philippines’ boxing hero Manny Pacquaio and lightweight king David Diaz at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time).

In a report posted at the philboxing.com, boxing analyst Ronnie Nathanielz said the NSAC also named CJ Ross, Gary Merrit and Paul Smith as judges in the Pacquiao-Diaz “Lethal Combination” fight.

Filipinos will remember Drakulich as the third man inside the ring in the historic bout between Pacquiao and Erik Morales, which the Filipino champ won with an overwhelming third round knockout of the Mexican pug.
