2 coops get P1.2-M aid for
dairy milk production

Two cooperatives in San Carlos City received loan assistance of P600,000 each to augment their production of dairy milk  and related by-products.

The checks worth P1.2 million were turned over by Mayor Eugenio Lacson to Codcod Multi-Purpose Cooperative director   Ranil Alfajora and Codcod Agrarian Reform Community Cooperative chairman Reno Samillano on June 19 at the SP Session Hall.

The mayor’s office said that two upland cooperatives will expand their dairy milk production business, requiring a capitalization of P1 million for each cooperative.

Halal confab in
Manila starts tomorrow

The Philippines will hold the 1st National Halal Convention tomorrow and Thursday at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City.

The convention, which will discuss the business opportunities and development of the Halal food sector and the importance of Halal products in domestic and global markets, is a joint undertaking of the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Tourism, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agriculture, Department of Health, DTI-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and the Office of Muslim Affairs.

The convention will have sessions on priorities and challenges of the Philippine Halal industry, exporting and business potentials, with speakers from Malaysia and Thailand who will also share their Halal promotion strategies.

Databanking training on
anti-trafficking held

Three batches of participants from different databanking government agencies and non-government groups across the country involved in anti-trafficking campaigns attended trainings in Monitoring System, Information Technology and Data Information System, a government press release said.

The trainings, attended by 87 representatives, were held in Cebu City, Davao and Luzon recently.

It highlighted the completion of the successful run of the Philippine Information System on Trafficking done by Commission on Filipinos Overseas and National Police Commission with assistance from the US Department of State through the American Solidarity Center.
