| FOR ‘GRAVE’ OFFENSES The Supreme Court has upheld the right of the Civil Service Commission to investigate charges filed by Negros Oriental State University teachers against university president Dr. Henry Sojor. Meeting en banc in Baguio City on May 22, the 15-member Supreme Court reversed the 2005 decision of the Court of Appeals which put Sojor beyond the reach of the CSC. Sojor is facing charges of nepotism, dishonesty, falsification of official documents, grave misconduct, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service. These are classified as grave offenses under civil service rules, punishable with suspension or even dismissal. | ||||||||||||||||
