Man knifed dead,
another injured

A man died yesterday while another was injured Sunday in stabbing incidents in Bacolod City , the police said.

Richard Gracia, 24, of Bangga Active, Circumferential Road, Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod , was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital , at around noon yesterday, police records showed.

Police Station 2 case investigator, SPO1 Hermelo Jalandoni, reported that a certain “Lezer”, stabbed Gracia in his right armpit, near Bob's Place, at B.S. Aquino and Lacson streets.

The attack happened after Gracia took the key from the tricycle of Lezer's uncle, Danilo Villacujer, Jalandoni said.

They are now preparing murder charges against the suspect, who escaped after stabbing Gracia, he added.

Meanwhile, Johnny Bernil 36, of Purok Magsanaya, Brgy. 6, in the city, was also brought to the CLMMRH with a knife wound in his left armpit allegedly inflicted by Ivan Perma, 45, in Purok Magsanaya, at about 8 p.m. Sunday, police records showed.

Perma fled after the incident, police reports said.*PP

IN SAN CARLOS
2 more nabbed
for loose guns

Two more persons were arrested in San Carlos City , Negros Occidental, for illegal possession of firearms, bringing to eight the number of loose firearms the police have recovered since early this month, records show.

Supt. Harold Tuzon, police city chief, yesterday identified the arrested suspects as Saman Sabilo and Rodolfo Rebonggue, both of San Carlos .

Tuzon said a Remington .45 caliber pistol and two magazines containing 12 bullets were recovered by the police from the residence of Sabilo in Brgy. 6, San Carlos , during the weekend.

The raid at the house of Sabilo was covered by a search warrant issued by San Carlos Regional Trial Court Judge Catherine Go.

Another .45 caliber pistol with a gun silencer was also seized from the house of Rebonggue in the same barangay, police records also showed.

Tuzon said they are still conducting an investigation on the alleged link of Rebonggue to murder cases.

The two arrested suspects are now detained at the lock-up cell of the San Carlos City Police Station.*GPB

Barber detained for drugs

A barber was detained after he was allegedly caught smoking a suspected marijuana cigaret in Bacolod City , yesterday, the police said.

Ricky Eslabon, 27, of Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod , was detained at Police Station 2 after he was apprehended by PO2 Clint Ferrer in Brgy. 17, in the city, at about 1 p.m. yesterday, police records showed.

Remnants of the suspected illegal substance were endorsed by Ferrer to Police Station 2 yesterday.

Eslabon admitted using the alleged prohibited substance, which, he said, was given to him by his friend.

Senior Insp. Luisito Acebuche, Police Station 2 commander, meanwhile, said that they will subject Eslabon and the substance confiscated from him to tests at the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory.*PP
