| IN FISTS OF FIRE Defending Philippine Super Lightweight champion Mark Jason Melligen of Bacolod City yesterday said he has a single task – to knock down contender Cris Alag of Cagayan de Oro City in the sixth or seventh round in their 12-round duel dubbed “Fists on Fire,” at the West Negros University Gym at 6 p.m. today. Alag, though, took the challenge and said he will prove his mettle as Philippine Boxing Federation king when he takes the canvas against the southpaw Melligen, the country’s top Junior Welterweight pugilist in the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation, World Boxing Organization and World Boxing Federation, in the 140-lb category. | ||||||||||||||||
