| A new home
The Pope John Paul II National Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family is on its seventh year now, and is applying for a “Centro Assoirato” or Associate Center status.
This will move the institute to its new home, the University of St. La Salle campus, and place it under direct supervision by the Pontifical Institute in Rome with the end view of becoming the Philippine Session of the Pontifical Institute.
It is necessary that the Institute has an Academic campus, hence, the move to USLS. The Mass of the Holy Spirit at USLS Chapel was attended by professors, friends, staff and benefactors of the John Paul II National Institute.
Fr. Ronald Quijano, Academic Dean of the school, presented the professors and the students to the Msgr. Victorino Rivas, president, who declared school year 2008-2009 open.
A sumptuous dinner followed at the Santuario de la Salle. A video presentation of the historical highlights of the Institute was also featured.
Fr. Quijano gave the academic profile of the Institute and explained the responsibilities and privilege of the Centro Associate.
The highlight of the evening was the message of Bro. Ray Suplido of La Salle. He welcomed the institute and said, it was with joy and honor that they welcomed the news that the Institute will be transferring to the campus.
Remember: The Lord is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor, no good things does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.*
