Treasurers told: Auction
delinquent real properties
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Municipal treasurers all over Negros Oriental were ordered to submit a list of real properties to be auctioned to the public, provincial treasurer Danilo Mendez yesterday said.

He said this is long overdue, and some of the properties have a delinquency ranging from two to 10 years.

Only Amlan town has so far conducted an auction sale of delinquent real properties this year, he said, adding that more than P100 million in uncollected real property taxes remain in the hands of delinquent taxpayers.

Get NFA accreditation,
NegOr barangays urged

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The National Food Authority in Negros Oriental is reiterating its challenge to barangay officials in the province to become NFA-accredited retailer outlets, information officer Rolando Lazalita of the grains agency yesterday said.

Lazalita said there is a long list of private applicants for accreditation. The NFA wants to accommodate all requests but they have limited personnel and service vehicles for the rolling stores, he added.

Most barangay captains have requested for NFA rolling stores accreditation, to lessen the long lines of consumers in retailers outlets.
