| The Aviation Security Group will open a medical outpost this week to guard passengers against unexpected illness and health problems while at the compound of the Dumaguete airport, its chief, Insp. Gazbamiller Guzman, said yesterday.
Guzman said the facility will be manned by a doctor and a nurse who will give first aid, and monitor the health condition of passengers, visitors, and airport personnel.
Its personnel will come from the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital .
Guzman has appealed to individuals or companies who can help the project by donating medicines.
The ASG sponsored a medical and dental mission Saturday at the airport compound. It was supported by the Air Transportation Office, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, and two private pharmaceutical companies.
Beneficiaries were families of airport concessionaires, drivers of vans for hire, airport personnel and residents.
Free consultation for eye problems and other sicknesses were administered, tooth extractions, and free medicines and vitamins were also made available.*RG
