PNP holds pinning rites

A pinning of ranks ceremony for newly-promoted Police Non-Commissioned Officers was held yesterday at the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office headquarters, in Agan-an, Sibulan town.

S/Supt.  Melvin Buenafe, provincial director, led the rites to honor the 130 promoted PNCO's, who are among those  assigned  at he  PNP Provincial Command,  705 th Provincial  Mobile  Group, and  the  various police  stations.

The promoted commissioned officers include Chief of the Provincial Intelligence Division, Supt. Reynaldo Andot, Guihulngan chief of police Supt. Petronilo Gracia,  and  Canlaon   City head Supt. Manuel Hidalgo.

Buenafe  lauded the promoted police  officers and said this indicates their  honest  effort  in  fighting  against  criminality  and  maintaining peace  and order  in  the  province.

He  challenged  them  to  continue  doing their best  and win the  respect of  the  community.

He also promised to look into the cases of erring policemen particularly those abusing their authority. He said among those cases is the indiscriminate  firing of  two police  officers  of  Santa  Catalina   and  Pamplona.*MA
