| Eighty-six farmer-beneficiaries in Hacienda Victoria, Isabela, Negros Occidental were installed recently by the Department of Agrarian Reform, a government press release said.
The property was acquired by DAR from Avina Agricultural Development Corp. and Wilson Jesena through the compulsory acquisition scheme of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.
Officials who witnessed the installation were Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Teresita Depeñoso, PARO I Gideon Yonque, Isabela Mayor Renato Malabor, Municipal Agrarian Officer Jose Renato Defino, Isabela police chief Virgilio de la Cruz and Sgt. Arnold Pason of the 11 th Infantry Battalion, the press release said.
Malabor said he is thankful the turn over rites was peaceful and urged the beneficiaries to maximize their opportunities as landowners.
“Utilize it in the manner that it will bring about a significant change to improve the quality of your lives to become productive citizens of our country,” he said.*
