High school teacher
facing rape charges
BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

A high school teacher may face charges on five counts of rape for allegedly molesting a student in Cadiz City , Negros Occidental, the police said yesterday.

The instructor was arrested at about 3 p.m. Friday after the fourth year high school student he allegedly abused told the police he molested her again Thursday, Cadiz City police chief, Chief Inspector Jefferson Descalllar, said.

This is the second molestation complaint against the suspect, the first of which was settled, Descallar said.

The teenager, identified only as “Helen”, 17, and who is now pregnant, said in an ABS-CBN interview that the suspect, has been bringing her to a pension house in Cadiz after her classes.

She also said the teacher, whose name is being withheld by the police, is threatening to kill her if she tells anyone about the abuse.

The girl's mother said she wants the teacher to pay for the crime “for the sake of her daughter's dignity”.*PP
