Farmer kills brother
A farmer allegedly shot dead his own brother in San Carlos City, while two were killed in Cadiz City and in Manapla on Saturday, in what the police said were motivated by old grudges and robbery.
Murder suspect Antonio Villarcampo invoked self-defense in shooting his elder brother, Juan, in Sitio Bulad, Brgy. Quezon, San Carlos City , police chief Supt. Harold Tuzon said.
Tuzon said Antonio admitted the shooting and said Juan tried to force his way into his house on Friday night, hitting him in the head and causing his death.
A 357 caliber magnum revolver with three live ammunition was recovered during follow-up operations for the arrest of Antonio.
Initial police investigations show that old grudges had led to the shooting.
Palmares Lanate, 40, and a farmer, was also shot with a firearm of unknown caliber, allegedly by Caloy and Herman Banate in Brgy. Mabini, Cadiz City .
Lanate sustained multiple gunshot wounds and also died, police said.
In Brgy. Purisima, Manapla on Saturday, an unidentified gunman wearing a bonnet, also shot Edilberto de la Cruz, 36.
