BY CARLA GOMEZ

Gov. Joseph Marañon yesterday assured the public that Negros Occidental is in good hands and he is very happy with the way Vice Gov. Isidro Zayco is handling the job.

The vice governor has been closely coordinating with the governor by phone and through visits to the hospital, Maranon 's chief of staff Jose Ma. Valencia said.

Meanwhile, the governor said his health is improving significantly as his family has been providing him with the best medical treatment available.

The governor has been hospitalized at the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital since Jan. 14 and he said he is also very happy with the services being provided by his doctors in Bacolod .

Dr. Jesus Perez, the governor's doctor from Manila , is also all praises for the competence of Marañon's Bacolod doctors, his chief of staff Jose Ma. Valencia said.

The governor hopes that after a period of observation prescribed by Perez he will be able to go home, Valencia said.

Valencia said although still confined at the hospital, the governor is constantly giving instructions to him and Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan.*CPG
