| Three more guns were confiscated from three persons arrested in the cities of Kabankalan and Silay and Pontevedra town, while a homemade shotgun was endorsed by a barangay official to Supt. Harold Tuzon in San Carlos City .
This brings to 154 firearms seized from unlicensed gunholders and accounted for by the police in Negros Occidental since last year.
Nabbed recently for illegal possession and unauthorized carrying of firearms outside residence were John Paul Sola, Jonathan Cuenca and Raymond Guinsolao.
Supt. Calixto Mabugat said a Glock 9mm pistol was recovered from Sola by three traffic enforcers at Coloso Street in Kabankalan Sunday.
Mabugat, newly-promoted police chief of Kabankalan, said that while Sola presented a license for his firearm, he is not allowed to carry it outside his residence.
Supt. Roderick Alba said the recent arrest of Cuenca in Brgy. Guinhalaran, Silay City , also yielded a .5.56 homemade revolver with six live ammunition.
Police investigations also showed that Cuenca has four pending arrest warrants for violation of Republic Act 8294 with bail recommended at P180,000, for PD 1612, or anti-fencing law, RA 6539, or Anti-Carnapping Act, and estafa with bail of P16,000.
Guinsalao was arrested by troopers of the 613rd Provincial Mobile Group in Brgy. Malvar, Pontevedra, for having a .38 caliber revolver with two live ammunition.
Meanwhile, Felicidad Villamor, 47, surrendered a 12-gauge homemade shotgun with two ammunition to Brgy. Capt. Joel Ramas, who endorsed it to Supt. Harold Tuzon, police chief of San Carlos.*GPB
