Asian football tilt
slated at Panaad
RP, 3 OTHER TEAMS VIE
IN CHALLENGE CUP QUALIFIERS

International football returns to Negros Occidental in May when one of the qualifying stages of the Asian Challenge Cup is staged at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City .
This was confirmed by Jose Mari Martinez, president of the Philippine Football Federation, who said that four teams, including the RP Team will see action from May 11-18.
The Philippines will be entertaining reigning Challenge Cup champion Tajikistan , Brunei and Bhutan at the Panaad.
| LOPTTA age-group tourney set The 9th Lopues Table Tennis Association age-group tournament is scheduled Jan. 26-27 at the LOPTTA facility inside Lopue's San Sebastian in Bacolod City . The tournament has been divided to eight divisions, namely the boys and girls' 10-Under singles, boys and girls' 12-Under singles, boys and girls' 14-Under singles and boys and girls' 17-Under singles. The drawing of lots is scheduled at 4 p.m. on Thursday. LOPTTA's Mark Francis Jimenez said the elimination rounds in all events will be played in a round-robin format with entry fee pegged at P20. |
| XBAC, D'Axial prevail XBAC downed BACIWA, 69-65, while D' Axial Engineering beat Tangub Riders, 68-60, Friday in the opening games of the Basketball Unified Sports Group quadrangle tournament at Lopue's South Square gym in Bacolod City. Zaldy Navarra scored on all quarters on his way to 19 points, while Edgar Espares added 16 and Boy Java hit 11 to bail X BAC over the Watermen which got 17 from center Henrico Juarez and 13 from Eugene Mojeño. BACIWA trailed 28-33 at half but rallied in the third canto, 18-16 and led halfway of the final quarter. |
