XBAC downed BACIWA, 69-65, while D' Axial Engineering beat Tangub Riders, 68-60, Friday in the opening games of the Basketball Unified Sports Group quadrangle tournament at Lopue's South Square gym in Bacolod City.

Zaldy Navarra scored on all quarters on his way to 19 points, while Edgar Espares added 16 and Boy Java hit 11 to bail X BAC over the Watermen which got 17 from center Henrico Juarez and 13 from Eugene Mojeño.

BACIWA trailed 28-33 at half but rallied in the third canto, 18-16 and led halfway of the final quarter.

Jovito Yasay scattered 17 points while Bert Pabon, Boy Prietos and Armando Soberano scored 13 apiece for the Engineers of Rene Antones.

Reynaldo Valencia picked up 15 and Randy Cawaling supported with 13 for Tangub. *
