Rotary golfest slated

The 11th Rotary 'Golf-for-a-Cause' tournament is set March 15 to 16 at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

The tournament is organized by the Rotary Club of Bacolod Marapara and attracts golfers from many parts of the country as well as players based abroad.

"This tournament is one of the most enjoyable events of the year and also one of the most important as it raises much-needed funds that enable us to continue our medical missions for indigents, who normally would not be able to afford to see a doctor or buy medicines,” club president Eduardo Coscolluela said in a press release.

Players can sign up on the first day of the event at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club. Registration is pegged at P1,000 which includes the awards dinner and two mulligans.

Serving as tournament director is past club president Emilio Infante.

The reigning 'Golf for a Cause' champion is Fil-Am Al Concepcion, a 56 year-old retired investigator with the California State Department. He took the trophy last year with a net score of 84 points under the Stableford scoring system.

Interested parties may contact club director Robert Harland at 433-2036 or 0916-3437048. *
