A new 10-MVA substation of the Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative 2 was turned over Friday in Tugas, Tanjay City , to serve consumers in Amlan, Tanjay City and Pamplona .

Vice Gov. Jose Baldado, town officials, and members of the board of directors of NORECO, attended the ceremony.

The P16 million substation is the first project of NORECO 2 among those approved during a general assembly held last year.

NORECO officials hoped the substation will answer the problem of power shortage in the covered areas, unlike the 4-MVA they previously used, and considering the increasing population of consumers.*RG
