Quedancor grants P130M
in loans to WV borrowers
 

The Quedan and Rural Credit Guarantee Corp. released P129.7 million in loan assistance to borrowers in Western Visayas in 2007, its records show.

A total of 2,934 borrowers availed of the loans, including the 1,204 grantees under the self-reliant team program, totaling P39.9 million.

The SRT program includes projects on hybrid corn production, income augmentation and livelihood for urban and rural poor. It also has grants for augmentation and livelihood program for farmers participating in inbred rice seeds program, and dairy production.

Of the total borrowers, Capiz has 1,087; Bacolod , 715; Iloilo , 672; and Aklan, 460.

Also granted were P33.7 million for income augmentation and livelihood, 671 beneficiaries; P25.9 million for SRA Agrikulturang Makamasa Sugar Farm Modernization, 648 beneficiaries; P23 million for swine program, 268 beneficiaries; and P2.58 million for micro-entrepreneurs special lending program, 65 beneficiaries.

A loan of P1.7 million was released to 48 recipients, including agri-fishery workers and private salaried employees; P1.5 million to 15 beneficiaries with agri-fishery small and medium enterprises; P1.3 million for nine Quedancor young farmers; and P54,350 for six borrowers under the lifeloan program.*NLG
