| West Negros College was ordered by the National Conciliation Mediation Board to pay its employees P3.2 million, one of the lawyers of the WNC Faculty and Employee Union said yesterday.
Leo Irving Sedonio said the NCMB issued a writ of execution directing WNC to pay, but when the sheriff served it Monday last week the school refused him entry.
The WNC lawyer, Gerry Basiao, said the school had no obligation to pay based on a document in which the present union allegedly cleared them of responsibility, Sedonio added.
However, Sedonio said Nathaniel Jamandron, union president, denied that the case in question is included in that document.
In their case before NCMB, the WNC employees had demanded payment of their 70 percent share from tuition fee increases imposed by the college for school years 1994-95 and 1995-96.
The NCMB, in an order signed by Archie Baribar and Mateo Valenzuela, ordered WNC to pay the employees for school years 1994-95 and 1995-96 P3,217,947.*CPG
